Siesta Key, FL – Turtle Beach
Located towards the south end of Siesta Key, Turtle Beach is a spot you shouldn’t hesitate to visit. Although the sand here isn’t as white as on other Siesta Key beaches, many visitors prefer Turtle Beach. It’s a nice, quiet place for you to unwind and relax.
Because the beach drops off more quickly, this is an ideal place for snorkeling and admiring the underwater world. The beach has all the amenities that allow visitors to spend a fun day in the sun. You can rent a kayak or paddleboard, look for shells, or relax with a good book. Public restrooms, showers, and picnic tables are available along the beach, making your visit as comfortable as possible.
Turtle Beach is known for the sea turtles that nest along the shore. Female turtles come to the beach, lay around 100 eggs in the nest, and cover it with sand. After approximately two months, the eggs will hatch, and young turtles will go to the ocean.
Besides the turtles, this beach and its surroundings are home to animals like pelicans, dolphins, rays, and manatees. If you want to spend time in the area, you’ll be happy to know that many homes and condos are located near the beach.
