Venice, FL – Venice Fishing Pier
One of the most famous spots in Venice is the Venice Fishing Pier. The pier was originally built in 1966 but was destroyed 15 years later by a “No Name Storm.” Since then, it has been rebuilt, removed, and renovated several times. The latest rehabilitation took place in 2019.
The 700-foot long pier is an excellent fishing and sunset-watching spot. It’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and admission is free. Visitors can find picnic shelters, volleyball courts, public restrooms, and a golf course nearby.
The one thing you must do when visiting the Venice Fishing Pier is eat at Sharky’s on the Pier. This legendary restaurant has become one of the pier’s landmarks, and it has been voted Florida’s best beach bar for several years. If you want to stay close to the pier, you’ll be pleased to know there are amazing properties in the area.
